Dark Chocolate can be beneficial but it must be very low in sugar in order to support the therapeutic aims.
Note:
- Milk chocolate typically contains about 45–60% sugar (around 10–15g of sugar per 25g serving)
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) usually has about 25–30% sugar (around 5–8g per 25g)
- Very dark chocolate (85–90%) can drop to 10–15% sugar (around 2–4g per 25g)
- White chocolate is often the highest, at 50–60% sugar
