Glutathione is often described as a key component of the body’s cellular defense system, helping to protect against infections and disease. It is involved in important processes such as immune function, DNA repair, and detoxification, where it helps neutralize drugs, chemicals, and metabolic byproducts. It also plays a role in managing oxidative stress and supporting the body’s response to environmental toxins.
The immune system is responsible for defending the body, and glutathione contributes to maintaining the health and function of immune cells. It is associated with supporting white blood cells, including T-cells (lymphocytes), which are important for fighting infections.
That said, while glutathione is essential for normal cellular function, some of the broader claims about its effects may be overstated or not fully supported by strong scientific evidence.
